Explanation of Terms
- What are complementary colors?
- They are colors that face each other in a color wheel, and have a relationship of mutually emphasizing each other’s brightness. For example, blue and orange, red and green, and yellow and purple are all in paired complementary color relationships.
- What is a local color?
- It is a subject’s own color, e.g. blue sky, white clouds, green grass.
